Is there a risk of heart attack due to DJ sound?
Health experts say that our ears have a direct connection with the heart. Meaning, whatever sound reaches the ear, also reaches the heart through the nerves. When DJ sound continuously reaches the ears, the heart beat increases, which can increase stress, anxiety and fear. In this condition, the blood in the veins of the ear starts thickening and if this continues for a long time, it can lead to a heart attack. According to the report of America’s New Jersey Medics, the risk of heart attack is highest in people living in very noisy areas. For example, the risk of heart attack increases by 72% in airport areas. Children, elderly people or people suffering from any disease are most at risk from loud noise.
How much noise is dangerous for health?
Sound intensity is measured in decibels (DB). According to the Hearing Health Foundation, sound of 70 decibels or less is safe for us. Being exposed to noise more than this can be dangerous. According to experts, the sound of music devices, earphones and earbuds used nowadays is only 75-80 decibels at 60% volume level, which reaches up to 110 decibels at full volume. If someone is exposed to noise above 85 decibels for more than 8 hours every day, his hearing ability may be reduced.
